KSeF 2.0 Go-Live: Production Tokens Arrive in MCU This December
As Poland accelerates toward the mandatory National System of e-Invoices (KSeF) launch, the Ministry of Finance has confirmed a critical milestone for taxpayers. Effective December 10, 2025, the Module for Certificates and Permissions (MCU) will support the generation of authentication tokens specifically for the KSeF 2.0 Production environment.
This update allows businesses to secure their access credentials well in advance of the February 1, 2026 mandatory go-live date.
Key Technical Takeaways
- Action Required: Taxpayers can now generate KSeF 2.0-compatible tokens via the MCU. Access requires initial authentication using a Trusted Profile (Profil Zaufany), qualified electronic signature, or a qualified seal.
- No Backward Compatibility: It is vital to note that authentication tokens generated for the previous KSeF 1.0 schema will not work in the KSeF 2.0 environment, nor will they be migrated.
- Sunset Clause: While KSeF 1.0 tokens can still be generated via the legacy Taxpayer Application until late January 2026, they are effectively obsolete for the new mandate. Furthermore, the token-based authentication method itself is currently scheduled to remain valid only until December 31, 2026, suggesting a future shift toward certificate-based or other authentication standards.
Strategic Implication
With the MCU functionality now live, IT and tax teams should prioritize generating new production tokens immediately. Waiting until the January deadline risks technical bottlenecks during the final transition weeks.
To ensure a risk-free switch, many organizations are turning to dedicated integration partners. Comarch EDI is already fully synchronized with the KSeF 2.0 authentication standards, allowing your business to manage these new tokens seamlessly. By leveraging our pre-configured KSeF connectors, you ensure your ERP systems are ready to handshake with the Ministry’s platform well before the February 1 cutoff, eliminating the stress of last-minute compliance.
